Our Story

Built in 1938, the Twin Cities Hotel has long stood at the heart of Longview, a gathering place shaped by the energy of the foothills and the people who have passed through them. Constructed by NHL hockey players during Alberta’s early oil boom, the hotel quickly became a hub for ranchers, travelers, and locals alike, offering rest, conversation, and a sense of belonging along the Cowboy Trail.

Over the decades, the Twin Cities has weathered change while retaining its character, a testament to the resilience of small-town Alberta and the importance of places that bring people together.

In more recent years, local resident Chris Goss became the steward of the Twin Cities Hotel, taking on its care with deep respect for its history and an unwavering belief in its future. Chris was committed to preserving the charm and authenticity of the hotel while ensuring it remained a vibrant, welcoming destination. Under his leadership, the Twin Cities continued to evolve, hosting live music, community gatherings, and experiences that honored both tradition and the present moment.

Following Chris’ passing in October 2025, the Twin Cities Hotel continues under the care of his family. Day-to-day operations, events, and hospitality continue as usual, guided by the same values that have long defined the Twin Cities - warmth, community, and respect for the past.

Today, the Twin Cities Hotel remains a living piece of Longview’s history: open, active, and welcoming. It’s a place where stories are shared, meals are lingered over, and old friends and new faces are always at home.
